How Covid-19 Affected The Working Of Our Business?
Corona Virus or COVID is a common word nowadays which can be heard anywhere and everywhere. The world is under the threat of this virus and scientists are trying their best to find out the vaccine or a medical solution for this deadly virus.
This deadly virus for first identified at the city of Wuhan in China which drastically spread across the globe. Though this epidemic hit India late, now it has spread like a wildfire across the globe.
As a safety measure, the Indian government has declared a Janata Curfew on 22nd March 2020. Where all the citizens were requested to stay in houses for one day. After which the government took a decision to do a complete lockdown from the 24th of March for 21 days which was later extended.
This was the though time faced by all. Businesses were down, some companies shut down, daily wages workers were homeless and jobless having no place to go. But with the announcement of Unlock 1.0 where they allowed and permitted certain activities which helped people in many ways.
As we are an IT company offering website designing and software development in India and across the globe, we also had a certain impact on our daily routine. The team was asked to do work from home and submit the report either through mail or any other media. All discussions were either on phone calls or video calls. It was difficult for the marketing team to reach out to the people and get the projects. Since people were facing kind of a revenue loss in business, it was hard for them to invest in website designing and software development.
But as a leading website designing, software development company in Goa, we had managed seamlessly to get the projects. Our Team was working from home to complete the projects assigns to them. Though it was a bit difficult in the beginning to communicate and get the work done, with the time and practice, all were great between the team members, and work was getting done and delivered on time.
During Lockdown 1.0, we had come up with the “Essential Services Finder” Portal to help citizens in finding operational Pharmacies, Hospitals, Grocery Stores (Home Delivery), Milk Booths, Home Delivery Volunteers and essential goods in around Goa. App was working on Crowdsourced data and many volunteers across Goa supported this initiative.
Later in Lockdown 2.0, we came up with a product rixDukan to help Grocery and other essentials stores go Live selling online. This product helped few stores in Goa as well as across India to sell online and give contactless delivery along with contactless payments. Today the same product is also used by other businesses as well to sell Clothes, Fish, Toys, Tools online. So during the lockdown, we didn’t lose hope, Our team supported us and been with us and hence today we are surviving in the market and are open to take new projects with our full team.
Now as we are in the second phase of the Lockdown i.e. Unlock 2.0, the government had announced and offered some more relaxation to the citizens. Though the Unlock phases have been started, community transmission is till on in Goa and across India. Many people are affected which deadly diseases, where few events lost their lives.
Now our office is open and functional by taking care of these few things as precautions:
- Covering the nose and mouth completely while exiting the house and wearing a mask at work.
- Using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer at work whenever required.
- Greeting people with “Namaste / Yevkaar” from a distance instead of shaking their hands.
- Avoiding touching anything, or even the door handle, other than what’s absolutely required while in the office. If touched, washing hands by pocket sanitizer.
- Following social distancing while in the office and keep their seating area neat and tidy.
- Wash your hands for no less than 20 seconds frequently, when you’re in the office.
- Carrying their homemade food and eat separately, at a distance from everyone else.
- If anyone shows signs of a cough or cold, they are not permitted to the office.
- Changing clothes as soon as they reach home, wash their hands and mouth properly and have bathed before engaging with family members.
- Keeping scooter, car, or whatever transport they travel in, clean as well. Not to forget to maintain distance if one is traveling in public transport.
